Day 16
1 orphan receives school fees and supplies in Cameroon

My education: My seed of hope

Non-inclusive education

Our education program targets orphans, abandoned children with priority given to girl who are more likely to repeat several grades or end up dropping out of school because of lack of school materials or the inability for their rural communities to afford their schooling. By providing these children a safe place to learn and grow, we are protecting them from ending up in the streets, turning to theft, criminality, prostitution or getting marry at a young age to take care of themselves.

Necessity

School supplies and school fees sponsorship for children in rural areas in Cameroon

Activity

Our organization purchases school supplies for school children and pays for their school fees.

Countable effort

Increase the number of children sponsored by 10.

Result

Improvement of the learning conditions of children, especially girls in rural areas

Systemic effect

By sponsoring the schooling of children and sponsoring their schools, we allow equal opportunities to learn and foster a solid foundation for all children to consider higher education of their choice and help them become actor of their development.

Background

Inadequate infrastructure and resources, gender inequalities, poor quality of education, vocational training mismatches, and limited funding are some of the key challenges that Cameroon's education system faces. In additional of our ongoing fundraising activities. The aim of this project is to help reduce the wide regional disparities in access to education, educational performance and the poor functioning of Cameroon's education system.

The good deed

With the school supplies and school fees that our GOOD DEED will allow us to sponsor, we will continue guarantee the completion of the primary and secondary school cycle for underprivileged children, especially girls (orphans, disabled children) in rural areas in Cameroon. This will ensure equal education opportunities to all the children dreaming to attend higher education, improve their living conditions and equip them to contribute to the country's development. Through our education program, we have a mandate to promote access and improve the learning conditions of children, especially girls in rural areas so they can receive a quality primary and secondary education. The neglect of education in rural areas in Cameroon, as else whare in Africa, is recognized worldwide. The rural children there are sadly disadvantaged in terms of learning skills which prevent to seek other lives, and they don't have education opportunities as the children living cities.

Challenge

We are planning to develop partnership with the Canadian and the Cameroonian government and with schools, and national and international NGOs that support and fund international Education projects.
